What is meant by that headline, is that the skin readily absorbs smallers particles. While this is great for allowing oxygen and therapeutic quality aromatherapy into the body, it is not so great when it comes to chemicals, which have no place or use in the body, other than in the creation of more disease.
The perfume industry is one such industry, that supplies the public with an arsenal of chemicals, most of them listed as moderately dangerous. Some of these same chemicals are deadly to many people. Simply by the fragrance alone. I have seen this firsthand.
The following link is from the Environmental Working Group, showing a small portion of perfumes, colognes, and body sprays with the amounts of chemicals listed within each. This site from EWG is a wise place to keep up on health matters. Here is the link.
Chemical fragrances will cause many people discomfort, such as watering eyes, sneezing, not being able to breathe, loss of brain function and memory, and more. If it's listed as a perfume or cologne or body spray, your best bet is to avoid them altogether. For even if you like it, this may be very dangerous to someone around you.
When I used to run a hardware store, one of the dept heads brought in a new air freshener in a spray can. This was something I could not tolerate to be around, nor could some of the customers. One of the owners son's would stand at the front checkout and spray it into the air just to breathe it, because he liked it. I took all the cans off the shelf and disposed of them. This is what the label stated:
"Do not use this in a main room at first. Spray into a small room not being used to see if there are any adverse side effects first". This is a direct quote from that can.
Time Magazine published this article on the web about the chemical hazards found in air fresheners. Once you get an understanding of what the industry/big business if doing(using us for money regardless of the cost to us), you may realize that these products should be avoided like the plague. Why not petition the FDA/EPA/FTC/US Government, to make them go away permanently? Besides eating healthy, not much could help our health faster than this one action.

While everyone strives to have good health, not many really understand what it is. When we believe, to a large extent, we are eating healthy, living healthy, thinking healthy, we really are not. Here are some tips to better your health...

Toxic Diet and Child Obesity
“The most commonly diagnosed childhood ailment in the U.S. today is pediatric obesity. The number of children who are overweight has doubled during the past three decades. One child in five is overweight, regardless of race or gender. Diseases that were once limited to adults, like type-2 diabetes, are now increasingly occurring in children.
Robert Lustig of the University of California Children’s Hospital says that changes in food processing during the past 30 years, particularly the removal of fiber and the addition of sugar to a wide variety of foods that never before included sugar, have created an environment in which our foods are essentially addictive.
Food manufacturing practices have created a ‘toxic environment’ that dooms children to obesity, he adds. ‘In particular, too much fructose and not enough fiber appear to be cornerstones of the obesity epidemic.’”
~ Acres USA, April 2007
Ideally, we should all eat primarily fresh foods. Since this is unlikely, at least we can offset some of the harmful effects of the packaged products by consuming powdered herbs. These, in decent quality, can be very helpful in helping to restore the alkaline balance of the body, which is necessary. They can also help to keep and possibly restore waning vision, mental capacity, memory, even hearing. Some very good, and relatively inexpensive herbs I use are located here.

Raw or Cooked Foods?
Raw foods are, without question, by far the best you can eat. Which is not to say you have to eat only raw. The more raw food you can consume compared to cooked though, will only help you. It will help you in more ways than you might imagine.
For instance, eating a fair amount of raw foods can help you dream more, and remember them. Raw food consumption will almost unquestionably give you more energy and endurance. Raw foods will give you better thinking capability. And perhaps most importantly, raw foods will give your body the tools it needs to help prevent illness of most kinds.
I say most kinds, because there are other factors involved, such as chemicals, pharmaceutical drugs, etc. They will all hurt your health. Pharmaceutical drugs for instance, are known to be fairly common at giving brain fog, losing mental capacity including memory, creating new diseases, and more. Those drugs are nothing more than chemicals in pills or shots.
Some great health aids you can use, which have been mentioned before on this blog, include Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Chlorella, Goji Berry(also called Lycium or Wolfberry), and many others.
When you consume mostly cooked foods, you are missing some of life's greatest gifts, such as many of the B vitamins, vitamin C, all enzymes, and more. For someone to tell a vegetarian they do not get enough vitamin B12 simply because they are not eating meat is a lack of knowledge.
Eating meat, unless it is close to raw, will not have B12. Like many vitamins, this one is destroyed at temperatures generally used to cook the meat. Vegetarians who know what they are doing seldom are lacking for these vitamins. They generally have more than others who are not vegetarian.
If you know someone who may benefit from reading my posts, please send them this way. I am very appreciative that you have taken the time to read my writings. May your day be sunny and cheerful, and your heart be filled with gratitude.
