The Damaging Effects Of Sugar

Sugar and high blood glucose is detrimental to health. Excess sugar shortens a persons lifespan and opens the door for sickness.

The Medical Director of the Pioneer Comprehensive Medical Clinic in Draper, Utah, Dr Rodier, explains that the health crisis and the rise of disease in the U.S. are not the result of doctors -- the truth extends beyond them. "What's really going on," he says, "is that we are eating too poorly. We get people off medications by changing their diets."

Dr Brolier explains that people are addicted to sugar. His most memorable statement followed a quote from the dental industry -- peope who drink soda pop should do so with a straw so the soda would not damage their teeth. He says "Maybe people should get a longer straw that will go all the way through and come out the other end." "If soda damages the enameled bone tissue of the teeth, imagine what it will do to the soft tissue of the digestive mucosa." ---- A point well taken.

Dr David Hill, Director of the Young Life Research Clinic says: "Sugar is death." He says only 20% of your health is determined by your genes, the remaining 80% is determined by lifestyle choices. Dr Hill says "You can remove genetic dispositions by changing your lifestyle. 100% of our health can be controlled by lifestyle when we are willing to make the necessary changes."

Sugar when consumed is very acidic and rushes into the bloodstream causing an excess of insulin to be released. When this happens the body produces more insulin. Over time, the body becomes insulin resistant, causing a multitude of illness, with type ll diabetes being the obvious result. Because sugar is so acidic it fosters disease. Do you really want your kids drinking soda every day?
