It's easy to get sore muscles when shoveling. Mostly I think, because we don't generally do it year 'round. Massage is always beneficial for sore muscles. And massage with aromatherapies can be more effective, and more relaxing.
Using peppermint, clove, or eucalyptus oils can be very helpful in these cases. Peppermint is a known anti-inflammatory compound, and is relaxing, mentally and physically. Clove oil is helpful as an analgesic, so that it helps to deaden pain, relieves some inflammation, and therefore accelerates healing. Euclayptus oil is very helful in relieving stressed muscles.
