When we have skin problems, we tend to run to the doctor for something to fix those problems. And yet, does this really do any good? Rarely. As a rule, skin problems are caused by internal issues, rather than external. Some will be external, such as poison ivy or spider bites. But most, like dry or cracked skin, most rashes, moles, spots, etc, are caused by internal issues.
So what does one do for these problems? Quite probably, the best thing you can do, and also quite probably the least expensive, is to cleanse the body. I'm not talking about going down to your local drug store and picking up a 3 day cleanse. Those won't do the job. What you will need is a real cleanse. Something without chemicals. So what works?
There are many valuable methods of cleansing the insides of the body, so that what is causing the skin issues goes away. One is the Stanley Burroughs Master Cleanse; a phenomenal tool in its own right. This is a modifed lemon/water fast. Ideally, you would want to do this fast for a minimum of 3 days at a time, and preferably longer. If that doesn't work for you, a one day fast each week can give some pretty decent results.
There is a Stanley Burroughs Master Cleanse booklet on the market, which in my opinion, may have outsold the majority of books ever published. Last I checked, the cost was around $7. I suggest getting the booklet, which is sold in most health food stores and online, even if you do not plan on using that cleanse at this time. Having it in your house will help you do a cleanse, if you keep it in a place where it can readily be seen.
Herb products such as Chlorella, French Green Clay, or Bentonite Clay, also help in cleansing the body, and Milk Thistle helps to cleanse the liver, which, ultimately, is overtaxed anyway if you have skin problems.
The clays would be best taken internally.
If you are wondering why I have said the problem is on the inside of your body, rather than the outside, it is because the skin is fed by what you intake. Sure, you may be around household chemicals which will cause issues. You may be allergic to the sun, which can cause issues. You may have rubbed up against some Canadian Thistle, or some Nettles, which will cause issues. And those would be treated better by outside means, rather than inside. A simply mud pack for the thistle and Nettles works. There are numerous fresh herbs which will help the other issues, such as fresh basil.
If the problem is sunburn, the best method of subduing that burn and the pain along with it, is using a therapeutic quality essential oil. That of Lavender. If you put a few drops of lavender in a spray bottle with non-chlorinated or flouridated water, then spray the affected area several times until the burn is gone, you will probably have no symptoms of sunburn whatsoever when all is said and done. I have used lavender many times for this. It always has worked, as long as it is therapeutic quality lavender.
Please, always be sure your aromatherapy is genuine therapeutic quality. Most on the market is not. The aromatherapies in the links in this blog are independently certified therapeutic.
