“USDA and Rutgers University scientists teamed up to grow and study the Bluecrop variety of highbush blueberries on five organic and conventional farms in New Jersey.
The farms had comparable soils and weather conditions, and the same harvesting methods were used. Consistent and significant differences in nutrient content were discovered by the researchers.
The organic blueberries had 46 units of total antioxidant capacity while the conventional berries contained 31. The organic blueberries therefore had over 50 percent more total antioxidant activity. Also, ‘blueberries produced from organic culture contained significantly higher amounts of phytonutrients than those produced from conventional culture,’ stated the report’s authors.
The study, ‘Fruit Quality, Antioxidant Capacity, and Flavonoid Content of Organically and Conventionally Grown Blueberries’, by S.H. Wang, et al., appeared in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.”

Great reasons to eat your fruit. Besides that, blueberries taste very good. At least, I believe so. You can find blueberry powder here if you'd like to have some. You can find numerous research studies online showing the difference between organically grown and commercially grown produce. That information may just shock you, when you realize the commercially grown produce has very little nutrient value, when compared to organic. If you have to ask why this should make a difference, we need to talk.
